This one of the practice's mainstream services. A full range of survey procedures is available on a site or habitat basis and can be tailored to meet specific client requirements. Phase 1 Habitat Survey is the first stage of many projects and National Vegetation Classification (NVC) or other Phase 2 surveys are routinely undertaken. These can be supported by more specialised services such as habitat condition assessment. All can be carried out on a stand-alone basis or as part of a wider project such as Ecological Impact Assessment. Here is a link to a recent survey report

Scottish Dock Survey

Air photo of Walden Woods, East RenfrewshireWe often use air photos to assist with vegetation mapping.  A high sensitivity GPS handset is used for taking grid references of target notes, notable plants and quadrats etc.

We work with a range of specialist sub-consultants in particular Starling Learning, who have been carrying out all our bird surveys since 1999, and  two firms of bat surveyors. If you only require a bat survey please contact WildSurveys or Nocturne direct.
