Preparation and implementation of Habitat Management Plans is another core service. We have prepared them for nature reserves, SSSIs, woodlands and other habitats.  Often such a plan is required for retained habitats on a development site as part of the planning conditions.  Management plans typically consist of:

  • Site Description and Evaluation
  • Maps showing habitats, management compartments etc.
  • Discussion of Management Issues
  • Management Aims and Objectives
  • Prescriptions or Actions
  • Work Program with timetable

In the 2000s we completed Management Plans for: Cameron House Grounds; Midross Nature Reserve, Woodlands and Habitats by The Carrick Golf Course (Loch Lomond); Patterton Wood and Greenlaw Park Habitats (East Renfrewshire). We were involved in implementing the Plans at The Carrick and at Greenlaw.

We aim to create user-friendly documents with achievable actions.

A Management Plan for Machrihanish Dunes golf course, was produced with green staff. A similar exercise is now underway for the three Turnberry Golf Courses.
